6/19/13:

Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respect them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? For they disciplined us for a short time as  it seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good, that we may share His holiness. For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Hebrews 12:9-11

Discipline is a double edged sword. It is the consequences for when we make mistakes but it is also a way to grow our faith. Discipline as consequences is necessary to show us that we are not perfect. Like when you were little and mom, dad, grandma or grandpa had to sit you down and tell you, that’s not how we act. Discipline in a spiritual sense does a similar thing. It guides and grows our faith. No matter how much or little we partake, whether you are in the Word on a daily basis or just whenever, remember, you are still growing in your faith and in relationship with God. You will be amazed at what kind of attitude change it can give you! So get in and grow!
